The Adventures of Cory and Ali

A Tween Fantasy  Novella

BLURB:
The King’s castle stands alone atop Grand Ur Mountain, but even that does not match the solitude surrounding Princess Ally. With her pet greybar (a creature with the head of a greyhound, body of a polar bear, and wings of an eagle) as her only friend, Ali dreams of becoming a beautiful princess.

When Cory, a ninja-in-training, drops through the royal chimney, he does not intend to enlist the help of anyone, much less a girl, but she holds the key to the Creator’s map. The ancient map marks the secret hiding place of the magic Wishing Ring, a ring grants the wearer one wish.

Cory’s mysterious need for the ring and Ali’s dream of a beauty send the pair to a forgotten land. Only the war ravaged clan of Odana can translate the map’s key. But even if they manage to find a translator, the question remains—can they beat the Ogre who guards the ring?

Wow I can't keep up in here!!!

I'm swimming in cheesecake all up in this place! Drowing I tell you! White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake, bam!

I see Lea, Heather, Wendy look at this crowd stopping by! I did have to share the Seafood Pizza with my husband, but I got some White chocolate tea that I need to try later!

Hawaii? No vamps there. That's the one safe zone. Otherwise, stay out of the woods or else you might get bitten...

Yummy!

Hi Rosalie,
I know, don't they look cool? I really can't wait to see one. In the meantime, if there's nothing to do (yeah right!) this is parade central. They have a parade for any and every occasion.
Here's a good one--had to go to hairdresser two weeks ago, so sitting there with my hair half done and I hear all this music and drums and she says, "OH, it's the Lion Dancers/" Chinese New Year. The guys in the costumes, sort of like those long dragons you've probably seen in pictures if not for real, but shorter, dance into the hairdresser. i hadn't noticed there were wires strung up around the place with little red envelopes with money in them. Good luck for the coming year. Then they dance around to everyone and you stick a dollar in their mouths. I think they were the ones with the good luck but it was really fun watching this along with about 30 other women in various states of hair color and cuts and all the hairdressers.

Hi Kristin,
No vamps but just about everything else! There's a big uproar about Monk Seals going on right now.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Chinese New Year... year of the Dragon..(the water dragon) Hoping that bodes well for my series with sentient dragons!! :) LOL
What a lively place to live.
Monk Seals... worth getting excited about?

More cheesecake and pizza...is it time for cider yet? Hmm. It's after noon.. so yeah!!! I'm there!!

Rosalie Skinner said...

White chocolate tea, now.. that sounds interesting.

Rosalie
I think the reason everyone is worked up is an incident or incidents that resulted in 3 seals dying. They are a native species to Hawaii so it's caused quite a bit of chatter on the news. Other than that, I don't know any other reason to get worked up unless something really dire is going on.
Bring on the dragons, I say.

Wendy said...

Rosalie, you were no 200 commentor. I had trouble finding the next 5. Had to hit the red Book Launch Party title to get the the new ones. So good to see you enjoying yourself Kristen and Elle.

That seafood pizza is sooooooo good.
Do you think we could get that Chinese Dragon to pass through our garden? might be quite interesting given the other animals here but Edith's Furnace is too small -might get frightened off.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Local species, well then people need to protect them. Yeah..I think that's worth getting worked up about.

Dragons.. How cool are they!! Chinese dragons are awesome. Apparently it is auspicious to be born in the year of the Dragon. I hope it is a great year for all the authors with book birthdays today.

Elle said...

I'll send the dragon over . The last few Friday nights I've been hearing fireworks from down Chinatown way. New Years goes on forever but it's great fun.

Elle said...

I just heard from The Romance Reviews--they accepted a short article I wrote entitled How I Became A Serial Murderer (In Fiction only!)
I can recommend that site BTW. if interested, I will send more info off the party blog.

Chubby Bubby Blue is frozen in place, gazing in wonder at the beautiful scenery Wendy posted.

He plops down on his blue butt with front legs in front pushing against the ground to give him a better view of all the beautiful colors.

"pretty" he says in awe. Eyes growing heavy he relaxes his front legs and curls into a ball but positioning himself to watch the sky while he drifts off to sleep.

His last thought is, Wendy and Lady Rosalie give the bestest parties.

Wendy said...

Lovely, Karen, but he's curled up in my toe. ouch! lol.

Debi Wilder said...

Hi Everyone and thanks for the congrats.

Gabby's Second Chance is my first release in a few years and am excited it is the Muse It Up Publishing. I hope you've enjoyed the peek.

Thanks for stopping by and sorry I wasn't here earlier. Silly rule I enforced when I started writing and became published is that when my hubby is home I don't do anything related to the writing business, it's family time because it's hard getting through the ice from our pyramid during the winter.

That being said .. HELLO!!!!!

Hugs everyone.

Debi Wilder

I try not to write around the husband as well, but there are times where I'm typing away and he enjoys saying really twisted and goofy things to see if I'm listening!

Why yes, yes, of course I am White Chocolate Vampire Man.

We had a beached whale on the shore last week. That's happened a few times before. Pity and The Vampire Family pleads the fifth!

No animals are harmed, just people!
But remember, no blood necessary for the participation in any Vampire Family events,

Yet.

;0)

Hi Debi and Congratulations on the release of Gabby's Second Chance...we have been passing around the Peppermint Patties complete with lashings of schnapps and mini marshmellows while you have been absent, but there's lots left!
Can you find the bbq? What will you drink...
Cubby has made me sleepy too. I think it's time for a nanna nap. :)
Somehow I think I will dream of dragons flying through moonbows!! With cubby elephants, food addicted poodles, little blue dragons, small white bulls, and greybears all chasing moonbeams!!

Wendy said...

So great to see you Debbie. Congratulations.
Everyone raise your glasses to Debi Wilder!

Everyone has enjoyed visiting with Gabby. She and Ryan disappeared for a while. I think they might have found Lea's Enchanted Bathroom. But I don't know for sure. I won't go there...

We have been trying Kristin's white chocolate tea and seafood pizza but there is the invisivle Champagne cake if you'd like to take some to your hubby and children. It is quite harmless.
Everything here is harmless unless you drink the water!
Hugs Wendy

Rosalie Skinner said...

Goodness the nap is well needed. Chubby elephants... hehehe..

Beached whales.. noooo... that's too sad. :(

I don't want to dream of that... Maybe I will have a cup of coffee instead. :)Or white choc tea...

White Chocolate Vampire Man... now that's an interesting concept. What happens when he drinks White Choc tea? Does he melt?

Debi Wilder said...

LOL Wendy,

Our kids are all grown, and the two grand-daughers are in separate parts of the US; as for hubby he's busy in the kitchen whipping up some Boston Baked Beans.

Besides, I'm really really being good on Weight Watchers, but thank you and you can eat my piece. ;>)

Can't stay long as it's 8:37pm here, college hockey is on, and it won't be long before hubby and I are headed in for some under the sheets time.

I really wish I could stay, but it looks like you all have it under control.

And yes, Gabby wouldn't be caught dead with Ryan ... Joe's more up her alley right now, literally!

Have a good night everyone and thanks the nice comments.

Debi

Hey, just got kicked off!!! Does this mean I'm gatecrashing the party?

Wendy said...

So, it's been 22 hours. Thank you all for a wonderfully entertaining party. I have enjoyed your company immensely and will let you know who won the book prizes.

The launchees appreciate your congratulations and thank you for sharing our special day.

I think it's time to close the garden gate and say adieu, adios, farewell. See you all in the writing world.

Just got back from the movies and I'm thinking I might need to make more of that cheesecake! I hope everyone's release day went beautifully! One more toast and I'm off to bed:). Night everyone! And Thank you Wendy for letting us hijack your blog:D.

Francene Stanley said...

I popped in yesterday at about this time, saw how much fun everyone was having and tried to crash the party. I left a comment, honestly, then went through the rigmarole of finding my google account. By the time I'd been rejected a few times, I slunk away. No champaign ... not even orange juice. Anyway congratulations to everyone on their book release. Especially Wendy. What's that I see over there? Chocolate cake. My favourite. Maybe no-one will notice if I taste. Mmmm. Yum.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Francene, There is still champagne on ice, specially for you. And Pavlova.. and Black Tie Cheesecake.. it's great to see you. Missed you yesterday.. we heard scratching near the hedge, thought it was Kristin's vamps and tried to ignore them.
Sorry if you found the greybear too officious as security. He's not really scary. *I hope*
Glad you made it.

Barbara Ehrentreu said...

Oh, darn!! I missed everyone and it's probably too late to say hi, but I'm saying it anyway. I tried to get Carolyn to come, but she said she was too busy. That Jennifer has her doing all these exercises to get on the cheerleaders. Anyway, who would she talk to? I mean she's 14 and the rest of these are much older than she. I mean certainly the vamps and ...is that a bear over by the bbq? Oh and I see baby blue, Karen's blue elephant was here too. I can see its path. Billy looks lonely over by the backyard all by himself. I see all the cheesecake is gone, but that's okay. Just glad to come here and wish everyone a great book release day and congratulations to all!! Wendy you do know how to throw a party. Hi to Rosalie, Karen, Elle, Gail, Nancy, Shellie, Edith, Kristin, Pat, Jane, Killarney, M.L. and of course, Lea who made all this possible!!

Anne Duguid Knol said...

I'm popping in late to say I have just nominated you for the Liebster Blog Award for your lovable blog.

Congratulations.
