The Adventures of Cory and Ali

A Tween Fantasy  Novella

When Cory, a ninja-in-training, drops through the royal chimney, he does not intend to enlist the help of anyone, much less a girl, but she holds the key to the Creator’s map. The ancient map marks the secret hiding place of the magic Wishing Ring, a ring grants the wearer one wish.

Cory’s mysterious need for the ring and Ali’s dream of a beauty send the pair to a forgotten land. Only the war ravaged clan of Odana can translate the map’s key. But even if they manage to find a translator, the question remains—can they beat the Ogre who guards the ring?

Congratulations Wendy, Elle, Shellie and Debi,
What a wonderful collection of books!!
Looks like Billy and Vanilla are already planning an escape or are they just making friends? Funny the dog and the little bull are about the same size. ;)
Let's not worry about them for now, it's time to open the champagne and raise our glasses...
*cheers*

Wendy said...

Hi Rosalie,
Lovely that you noticed Elle's dog, Vanilla. Billy can do with a good friend as we all can. I see strangers wandering in through the gate. Well they won't be stangers for long.

Do you think we should hide Shellie's Wishing Ring? Could be trouble if it falls into the wrong hands.

It should be all right Debi's Gabby should be able to handle any trouble.

I see you have started on the cider :)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Did I see Princess Ali's greybear sniffing the bbq... What do greybears eat? Although it has the head of a greyhound, Vanilla and Billy are giving him a wide berth.

Gabby is enjoying a Peppermint Pattie with marshmellows.

I think Vanilla likes chocolate. Hope the dog doesn't upset her mug. Sam should be around somewhere, just in case.

Perhaps he and Gabby.. No, what am I thinking..

Look at Billy... should we get him out of the rain? He seems to like Vanilla.

What does Spitzli think if another dog in her domain? A dog, a bull, a greybear... Poor Spitzli.. perhaps she's right to stay in your study!

Cider.. thanks... Ahh.. a refill... it's late in the day here. ;) Now...what's cooking that the greybear hasn't swiped?

Rosalie Skinner said...

*waves* Hi Kristen, Have some cider.. or would you prefer Champagne... *glances in the shadows" No vamps with you today? Not that I am scared. Hmm..
Still... are there any?

Edith Parzefall said...

Congratulations everyone. An interesting mix of stories!

Cheers, Edith

Wendy said...

A bear around the bbq. Maybe Edith can feed it some German Beer. That is if you can spare it Edith. hahaha.

Would you like to try my Spitzbüäbä - Christmas biscuit made with jam. I kept some back from Stefan's 18th b'day party

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Edith, come on through, watch out for Billy's 'messages' Wendy hasn't housetrained him any better than she did the bat. Sorry Wendy, but really.. you didn't! *oops.. is the sybil here tonight?* I can't smell snickerdoodles.

Hold on.. My mistake, I think we might need to keep the greybear outdoors. Sorry Shellie...or should I say, Ali, Cory...please keep the bear outside.

Thank goodness Vanilla is housetrained.. as far as that goes. He is prone to stealing food though.
So, what will you have... Champagne, cider... did you bring exotic beer? *I said exotic, not erotic, Debi.*
Has anyone seen Sam?
Spitzbüäbä sounds yummy... I'll try some thanks.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hey, Ladies, I'm hauling a crate of German beer over, but don't tell JJ. He might get grumpy. :-)

Oh yes, give me some Spitzbüäbä! Can you believe my mother didn't make any last year? Tsk, what's the world coming to?

Edith Parzefall said...

Bears? Where? Yikes, I hope Furnace will protect me although he is still quite small and young, but sparkling blue. I'm sure he'll dazzle the bears into docile pets.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Edith, greybears from Shellie's world... they have the head of a greyhound, the body of a bear and wings of an eagle.
Hmm. I hope the greyhound, bear and eagle were happy to share. Maybe I worded the description badly. Anyhow.. Ali says her greybear is friendly.
Maybe Furnace and he will be friends, since they are both mythical/fantasy creatures.

Edith Parzefall said...

The bears sound ... um, fun. Whoosh. Hehe, Furnace is quicker despite his little wings. :-)

Always fun to hang out with you guys! Next week I hope to start my Australian Adventure. *grin*

Edith Parzefall said...

As you can see, I've finally gotten around to filling out my blogger profile. It works. :-)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Great pic Edith... Australian adventure... should be fun. Can't wait to read that one too.
Love Cerridwen's adventures with her Knights. :)

Edith Parzefall said...

Oh, there is Billy! How cuddly. So cute. I have to get his story. Will be back!

Wendy said...

Can't wait for Kristin's Vampire family to make an appearance. They might have brought something to chew on. They should get on with Furnace, your little dragon.

Rosalie Skinner said...

I just found a ring in my Spitzbüäbä... I wonder if it is Ali's wishing ring? Can I make a wish?
Wonder what would happen...

Edith Parzefall said...

Thanks Rosalie, now you'd recognize me on the street. :-)

I'm really glad you're having fun with Cerridwen. Any news when the next book of Caleath's Chronicles will be released?

Rosalie Skinner said...

*aside to Wendy* You want vampires here? Hmm...
You are braver than me.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Rumour has The Battle for Enderseer Hold coming out in February.
Thankfully, in the land of fantasy and magic anything can happen. :) Now I have a wishing ring.. it's a given!! :)

Edith Parzefall said...

Vampires? Oh boy, I'm glad it's a sunny if freezing morning!

Rosalie Skinner said...

If I didn't recognise you on the street Edith, I am sure I would recognise Furnace. :P
Still...as you say, now you are visible...will be much easier.

Edith Parzefall said...

I could use a wishing ring, although I'm a little worried that I might get what I ask for...

Rosalie Skinner said...

Sunny...I wish.
Hold on.. no..
That's not my wish...

Phew.. it's still raining...

Kristin Battestella said...

Hello Ladies!! Wow I have a captive waiting audience that knows me only too well!!!! Thanks Wendy for coming to find me!!

Chocolate covered brandy drenched viking vampire for you! And you! And you!!

Be warned, he does bite!!!

Pass the cider por favor. ;0) If there's any left in my time zone! Although time is of no consequence to Mestiphles. Man's a vampire pimp, people, pimp!

Edith Parzefall said...

Hey, Wendy, I really loved your Feb issue of Calamity's Corner. As you may have guessed, the Ecuador feature fascinated me most.

Edith Parzefall said...

You were lucky, Rosalie. There are -10°C attached to the sunshine. :-)

Wendy said...

Rosalie, you can;t use the Wishing Ring until Shellie gets here and she is probably sleeping. Ask Edith if Cerradwin will loan you her moonstone ring?
Oh yes we need the vampires to liven up the place!
I'm going to have a large chunk of chocolate cream sponge. Hope Karen brings her snickerdoodles.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Kristen... Cider for you.. there is plenty. I started late. Hmm.
Choc coated viking vamp... where's the closet!! He doesn't sound so scary. :P
He sounds sort of yummy. Hmm.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hey Kristin, your viking vampire sounds yummy!

Edith Parzefall said...

Hehe, sick minds think alike, Rosalie. I'm licking my lips.

Wendy said...

Hi Kristin!! Great to see you. I just clicked at 20 and suddenly there is 27.
Did you bring the family!!

Wendy said...

Now there's 31. I can't type fast enough. hahaha

Wendy said...

Glad you like CC this month Edith,
Thanks.

Rosalie Skinner said...

*pouts* Ok.. I will wait for Shellie...
As far as I have read Cerridwen hasn't found her moonstone ring...dammit. No luck there.
-10deg C Edith!!! NO WAY. Thank goodness that wish didn't work.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Love your covers Kristin...oops Just realised I have been spelling your name incorrectly. Whoa.. sorry!!
Do I still get a vamp covered in chocolate and drenched in brandy?

Kristin Battestella said...

Yes I refreshed and now it is insane! Boy, you say viking, vampire, chocolate, brandy and suddenly everyone wants to be your f(r)iend! ;0)

Closet, Rosalie? Chile, these vamps done destroyed the closet last live chat!!

So what kind of manvamp is on order? The viking, the piano player, the good brother, or the demonic henchman?

We have one for all- and the ladies too!

Boy, this shady maple candle I've bot burning smells like wet candy! Feed me!

Edith Parzefall said...

Yes, Kristin's cover looks really cool.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hey Kristin, I'll take them all except for the demonic henchman. :-)

Kristin Battestella said...

Suzannah was awesome on our covers! Nope, nope! Spelling errors mean demerits! No brandy on your chocolate covered vampire!

FYI, Book 1 of Fate and Fangs, Love: Ann and the Viking (he actually gets drenched in some mead there) is being offered Free this weekend when you purchase Book 7 Resurrection.

That's the demon pimp Mestiphles himself getting a slight case of naked on our cover! He's also in Book 2 Punishment: Lilith's Trials, also Free with Resurrection this weekend!

Wendy said...

The piano player for sure. Then we might gert fire mummy to dance again.
lol f(r)iend. Yep choc brandy vamps sound like just the thing. Just keep them away from my sweet little billy. Don't want to get his white fur stained.

Kristin Battestella said...

Edith no love for the ruthless nekkid devil manvamp pimp himself? For Shame!!!

Would smothering him in chocolate help? We need a better substance. My writerly pal Leigh Wood would say peanut butter.

Wendy said...

Mead, does someone have some mead?
My Stefan hates mead but I'll try it if it has honey in it.

Kristin Battestella said...

Oh, oh, the fur is going to get stained all up in here!!

Because once we are good and dirtied up, then it is time for the shower and the scrub brush.

Dear Lord I don't know what's gotten into me tonight! Everything I say ends up sounding so.... dirty

>80p

Edith Parzefall said...

Smothered in peanutbutter, I'd even take the ruthless nekkid devil manvamp pimp, even though he scares me. :-)

Edith Parzefall said...

And you scare me too, Kristin. :-)

Thanks for the tip on getting book one for free this weekend!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Ok, I'll take the viking vamp. Hold the brandy...
So the closet was destroyed. Hmm. I must have left the chat early! LOL Before the party got rough.

Mead... I remember once in Cornwall.. or is that Corn World... tasting mead.

Kristin Battestella said...

Wendy, you ARE the honey in mead!

Smothered in it like wet candy and maple syrup. Then few vamps need to lick it off. Whilst you're on top of the piano. In a 1955 vampire speakeasy gone...awry

Poetry. 'Tis utter poetry right there.

Wendy said...

I'd stay out of the forest Edith. You know what happened to your Sasha. Stay this side of the hedge!

Kristin Battestella said...

Edith....glad to be of service in the fright department!!!

Rosalie, you left before it was rough then I say you're loss!! 80p

Brownies with Butterscotch drizzle, pass them out!!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Goodness, is it getting hotter? I thought Debi wrote the raunchy stuff... I stand corrected!!
Peanut butter, chocolate, phew... I can feel the calories settling on my waistline.
Now.. how to work them off...

*pardon.. Wendy did you suggest a walk in the forest..*

Wendy said...

lol Kristin, do I get to sing. I know the songs from the '55 hit parade.

Rosalie maybe your mage could settle things down a littl euntil the other guests arrive. Does he sing?

Edith Parzefall said...

I just tried to buy Billy and Resurrection at the Muse bookstore, but book one wasn't added automatically and when I added it manually, the full price showed in the cart. Maybe Lea needs to fix something or I'm still not fully awake.

Wendy said...

Nooooo, Rosalie. Stay out of the forest.

Do you think the guests will find us on Page 2. I hope they click on the NEXT arrow, I can't eart all this steak and pasta by myself.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Sing? Penwryt? hmm. Imagine chalk on a blackboard, a koala's mating cry, just don't tell him that's how I described his dulcet tones. I think he's deaf to his own discord.. I mean harmonies.

He could conjure a little of Edith's -10 though.. that should settle some of this vampire generated heat.

Wendy said...

Maybe Kristen meant on Amazon. I don't know.

Kristin Battestella said...

Hmmm...maybe some of the specials for the weekend aren't working yet? It's 3 am eastern, so maybe there was a time they take effect? Our Buy Resurrection get Love and Punishment Free (wow that sound really weird together!!!) is planned for Feb 3 thru Feb 5.

Ladies, ladies. We are walking these calories off in the woods? Hmm...I was thinking something more along the lines of, I don't know, Beltane?

And yes, to think, I'm usually the tame and innocent one.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Can't let the shrimps go to waste.
They will keep till the others get here.. if they aren't eaten by the creatures lurking within the bbq shadows

Edith Parzefall said...

Hehe, if you put it that way, Love and Punishment sound even more intriguing. :-) I'll wait and see if I can get both for free tomorrow or so.

Rosalie Skinner said...

hehehe.. of course you did Kristin!! LOL
A walk sounded safer somehow.. although Wendy doesn't seem to think so.

Rosalie Skinner said...

I will try tomorrow too. Isn't working here either.

Wendy is Billy supposed to be drinking MEAD... he looks like he's enjoying the bottle, by the way he's slobbering. Should I persuade him to share?

Kristin Battestella said...

Surely not a walk alone in these woods!

I did email Lea just incase there is some kind of glitch. As I say, it is the wee hours here, so others might be like, sleeping or something.

Damn though I am hungry!!!!

What to eat? What to eat? Something juicy and sweet!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Step over to the bbq and take your pick from kangaroo steak, shrimp, (yeah.. there are shrimp,) kebabs, fresh snapper, or any of the char-grilled veges on offer.

Kristin Battestella said...

kangaroo steak? Really? Is that like deer meat in popularity there?

I ended up with some pudding. I would fling my spoonful at you, but I'm too busy not using a spoon and licking it off of a big, brawny, rough, brooding, hungry man-

Well, on that note it is time for me to go to bed! ;0)

Edith Parzefall said...

Good night, Kristin. I'll keep watching out for your books.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Night Kristin... pleasant dreams...
Yes, kangaroo is becoming popular. Very lean and if cooked correctly as juicy and tender as you could want.
Will also be looking out for your books.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Pudding.. so where is the pudding... Calorie free, non fattening cyber pudding? Not quite as interested cleaning it off the big, brawny, brooding, rough, hungry man. If he makes the mess, it's his job to clean up...or isn't that what Kristin meant. Hmm. :P
LOL.

Wendy said...

Glad everyone is eating. See you in the morning Kristen. What time is it where you are Edith?

Kristin Battestella said...

Oh my word! All I saw was sweet dreams and man pudding mess.....

80p

Clearly I've been here too long!!

This has been a real treat ladies! Will most definitely have to read up on the post tomorrow, er later today! Bless you!

Edith Parzefall said...

It's a quarter to ten now, Wendy. And I've eaten most of the Spitzbuben (German spelling is easier) :-)

Wendy said...

Did you say 'sweat dreams' -isn't anyone going to sing. A lullaby maybe.
10 am Edith?

Wendy said...

I like Plum pudding at Christmas and other times. Flamed. Pass the juice. Billy can have a little drink, Rosalie. Goodness knows its a struggle for me to get him to take the bottle.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Lullaby, hmm. What about a tune from your repertoire Wendy.. I wouldn't ask the mage to sing.. we don't want to spoil the party.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Maybe we have found his weakness, milk mixed with mead. :)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Billy's weakness, not the mage's.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hehe, you certainly don't want to have me singing a lullaby. You'd either run away screaming or have nightmares.

Edith Parzefall said...

I'm uploading Billy onto my new Kindle! :-)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Maybe Cerridwen could sing.. or tell a story...

Rosalie Skinner said...

It's a great story, Edith. You will feel like you are in Australia all over again!!

Wendy said...

All voices are angelic in cyberspace. So for a 1955's tune in keeping with Kristin's speakeasy how about a joint chorus of ... Just looking on the net

Wendy said...

ah ha my all time favourite Rock around the clo9ck Bill Hayley

Rosalie Skinner said...

Rock around the clock tonight.. gunna rock rock rock...

*attempts a soft shoe shuffle and collapses in a heap*

Ouch... I think I have twisted my ankle. Might need some cider to dull the pain.

Edith Parzefall said...

Rock around the clock sounds great. Turn up the volume so I can sing along without hurting anyone. Afterwards maybe Cerridwen will tell a story about those strange before-times when people sat in front of metal boxes staring at flat shiny screens. :-)

Edith Parzefall said...

You need German beer, Rosalie. It's good for all injuries. :-)

Wendy said...

oh yeah does anyone have a coin. Put another nickle in in the nickleodeon. Cerradwin would love that. Maybe we can tell her a few stories she can pass on.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Ahh.. thanks Edith,
*slugs German beer* That hits the spot. Cerridwen's been known to dull pain with her stories.. might be time to call on her skills.
Go ahead and sing your loudest... I promise if I wince, it's just my ankle. :)

Wendy said...

Let the Caleath give you a healing nanobot, Rosalie and then you can put that ankle behind you lol

Rosalie Skinner said...

A nickel... I have an old bent penny.. from our 'before' times. LOL. See if it works.

Wendy said...

Just give it to knight Boris -he'll straighten it out. The coin I mean.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Nanobots.. what a great idea!! Must be the cider.. else I would have thought of that for sure!!!
What an excuse for eating another serving of pavlova too!!! Feed the healing nanobots!

Can they be programmed to re shape excess weight, spread it to the RIGHT places? hmm...

I think the German beer has gone to my head, as well as my heal/heel.

Wendy said...

Shellie said she'll bring some Black Tie Cheesecake. That sounds nice but for now I'll have some champagne cake. It has a secret ingredient. If I knew what it was I'd back one as it is I'll just have to settle for a virtual slice.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hehe, wouldn't it be great for Cerridwen to meet Caleath? I wonder what his aura looks like. He'd sure have some fascinating stories to add to her repertoire. :-)

Rosalie Skinner said...

LOL... Good old Boris.. Thanks friend... Now.. what's the next tune?

Wendy said...

Must have a drink of water to wash it down and help me to spell better :)

Edith Parzefall said...

I can't wait to revisit Australia in my next book. It's going to be so much fun and I hope I can block all work that might distract me. Hehe the release of that one would be the perfect occasion for the three of us to meet and dance around the cauldron. ;-)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Cheesecake... yummo.. I will take a slice of that. Sounds interesting. Black tie cheesecake.

Caleath's aura.. yeah.. getting him to tell his story might be difficult but I feel sure he would be captivated by Cerridwen!

Wendy said...

Rosalie, you can't have any cheesecake yet. Shellie hasn't arrived with it. Try the ambrosia salad. Dancing around the cauldren is something I've always wanted to do. Where's Billy. Ah there he is lying under the table next to Spitli. Isn't that sweet. I think I'll just crawl under there too and have a little nap. Wake me when the guests arrive. Another song before I drop off...Dance with me Henry. I bet no one remembers that. It's very lively.

Carole said...

Wait for me! Wait for me! I have a bottle of orange in one hand and bottle of Champagne in the other - Congratulations to all you good folk launching books today. Good for you Wendy in getting Billy out there - he looks gorgeous. I have Ratz pulling me along on his extended lead. He's left his guard duties over the Blood Opal, to come and say Hello to Spitzli. Don't worry he won't chase Billy. My latest crime fiction - Flash Harry - will be released in a few weeks too. I see the cider is going down well - and what's this about bear near the bbq?
Pass another snag, will you?

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Carole,
The BBQ is fired up... the cheese cake is arriving later.. although I know where there is a baked cheesecake topped with fresh strawberries.. if you would like some. Just don't tell Shellie.

Spiztli and Ratz seem to be getting on well. Sharing a snag.
Don't mind the greybear. It will hibernate till Shellie arrives.

Flash Harry.. sounds good! Love a good crime novel. Will keep an eye out for your release day!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Wendy.. *shakes the sleeping author... overcome with the excitment of another novel release* Wendy.. wake up!!!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Right Carole, let me fill your glass, will it be orange and champagne or cider.. I recommend the cider... *hic*...
Is Wendy snoring to the tune of 'Show me the Way to go Home'? LOL Where is your video camera!! We should capture this.. and show her later... :)

Wendy said...

Huh! Did somebody call. Oh Hi Carole. (aside to Rosalie thanks for waking me). Your R$atz is a beautiful dog Carole. He never ages. Can't wait to read Flash Harry. Maybe you should carry the Blood Opal with you at all times. Have a lamington. Do yo know any 1955 songs. We must add to Kristin's repetoire.

Wendy said...

Carole, you'll have to come to Sydney when Edith comes to Oz next time. Rosalie is and we can ask Laurel too. We must get together and do lunch. :)

Edith Parzefall said...

Hi Carole, good to see you. Can I have some O-champagne? It's the perfect brunch drink. :-)

That reminds me, I better fix some lunch despite all the snacking, my stomach grumbles.

Rosalie Skinner said...

That's the problem with cyber food, it really doesn't quell the grumbles... doesn't add calories or bulges either though.
Lunch.. hehe.. time zones are funny things.

Wendy said...

Did you bring any of those tatties - is that what they are called. We need some variety to go with the smoked salmon on the bbq.
Edith, is it wise to mix beer and champagne. I guess it's okay if it's cyber.

Has anyone seen Vanilla. We'll have to find it before Elle comes. Oh my if we lose her dog we'll all Go to the Dogs. Maybe we can get Princess Ally or Gabby to find Vanilla. Otherwise we'll have to use our one wish with the Wishing Ring. As a last resort.

Look everywhere but don't go into the forest.

Rosalie Skinner said...

I will take a look outside. I may be gone for some time...
Perhaps Furnace could take a quick fly around, see if his dragon senses can find the hound.
Do you think Vanilla was jealous of Ratz? Seeing how well Spitzli and he get along.

Kristin Battestella said...

fyi ladies! For those asking about the Buy Resurrection, receive Love and Punishment Free special!!!

Just got the confirm email from Lea. The Books 1 and 2 files are included with the Book 7 download. No need to separate cart anything.

Back to the vampire dreams!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Good to know Kristin.. enjoy those vamp dreams.

Wendy said...

I've just placed fresh roses and gardinias along the tables and brought out more salad and Aussie cheeses. I am keeping the crisps for myself. I'm very greedy where chips are concerned.

I know my fellow authors Elle, Shellie, Debi and Kristin, who have their books released today, will be wonderful hosts to our guests while we in Oz drop off into dream land for a little while.
This is going to be a wonderful Launch Day to be sure!!

Carole said...

1955 - that's going back a bit, even for me -- Anyone remember The Purple People Eaters? (Oh, what a thing to beeee...)That must have been around that time. Hey, have you warmed the Tawny Taters up yet? I stuck them in your oven, just for the final heat. Wouldn't do to overcook them.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hey, anyone wants Indian curry? Should be ready soon and I think we'll have enough to spare.

Edith Parzefall said...

Thanks for the info, Kristin. Will go buy me a treat now. :-) Yum. Dessert after the curry...

Rosalie Skinner said...

I can smell those tawny tatters... perfect way to end the day. The gardinias and roses smell so sweet, Wendy, looks great too.
Will rest my eyes for a while, catch you all later.
Congrats to all those with book releases today!!

Edith Parzefall said...

Happy eye resting, Rosalie. Btw. I loved your interview in the Coffs Harbour paper!

Edith Parzefall said...

Hm, I just bought Resurrection and also got Love & Punishment, but unfortunately only as pdfs.

Jane Richardson said...

Happy launch day from me in the UK! What a party has been going on! Hope you're all having a fabulous time. Wishing you masses and masses of good luck and LOADS of sales!

Edith Parzefall said...

Hi Jane, we're all a bit exhausted. I suspect the Aussies have nodded off, while I read Wendy'd Billy the Bonsai Bull. Really charming, cute story with a message.

Jane Richardson said...

I can imagine they're all pooped, Edith! Enjoy your moment with a book - bet you anything the party will all kick off again soon, as they always do!

Edith Parzefall said...

I'm sure it will. Canada and the US are still asleep. I'm checking out your Edinburgh Fog right now. Sounds interesting.

Pat McDermott said...

You folks "down there" sure do have the "party advantage!" It's just 7:00 am here in New England, and your release day is just starting. So Happy Release Day, Wendy, Shellie, Debi, and Elle! Sending a bottle of cyber champagne your way. Congrats!

Edith Parzefall said...

Hi Pat, good to see you again. Can I have some champagne, pretty please? It's after lunch now for me and I dare to be a little more reckless. ;-)

Edith Parzefall said...

I'm a quarter into Glancing through the Glimmer and enjoying it. Had to interrupt though to squeeze in little Bonsai Billy, but I should finish the read within the next few days. It's great to be back in Ireland with you. :-)

Pat McDermott said...

I brought the pink champagne this time. More festive. Have a glass, Edith. Glad you're enjoying GGTG and Ireland. I submitted the sequel yesterday. Is it okay to have BBQ for breakfast?

Edith Parzefall said...

BBQs are fine anytime, particularly in cyberspace. Nice bubbly!

Good luck with getting the sequel accepted. I'm sure they will. Ohhhhmmmm, sending you positive vibes.

Wendy said...

Tawny Tatters, that's what I wanted. Just the thing to go with a good glass of red. Thanks Carole.

Yes I remember Purple People eaters. Lets hope there are none loose around here.

Thank you so much for dropping in Jane. Lovely to have our UK friends here while the USA is still asleep.

Thanks for the champers Pat. I've warned everyone to say out of the forest. They must not risk getting caught in the glimmer. I do hope your fairies will behave this time.

I hope Karen's chubby bubby blue will be here when I wake up.

A special thanks for being such good friends Rosalie & Edith, you make a party swing.

It's over to our morning authors now. I must get some shut eye.

Welcome everyone. Please serve yourselves. :)

M. L. Archer said...

Congratulations, everyone! The covers are great and the stories sound so interesting! Good work!

Pat McDermott said...

Sleep well, Wendy! Thanks for the vibes, Edith. The fairies are underwater this time, so they won't be coming today. Unless there are oatcakes and buttermilk.

Edith Parzefall said...

Sleep well, Wendy. You sure host great parties. No wonder you're exhausted. I feel like having an afternoon nap now with all the drinks and food. Yawn.

Edith Parzefall said...

Hm, wouldn't wet fairies be quite grumpy? Maybe I should hide the oatcakes...

Pat McDermott said...

These fairies live in the water, webbed toes and fingers, crystal palace under the lake. Yes, you should hide the oatcakes :-)

Jane Richardson said...

Looks like the party's kicking off again - enjoy the rest of your day, ladies! I'm heading off on the train to visit a friend for dinner tonight, and I will raise a glass to your new releases! much love and luck,

Jane x

(PS Edith - hope you like it!)

Killarney said...

I made it, a little late but I'm here! I love book release day (: Sorry I have been MIA most of this winter. I have been trying to one by one finish up 15 MS that are sitting in my computer crying for endings.
Happy release guys!

Chubby Bubby Blue takes a feather in his trunk and tickles Wendy's nose.

Weeeendy, he whispers. Are you awake yet? I wanna plaaaay.

*sniff* Wake-up.

Nancy Bell said...

I'm late but I'm here! Brought tons of "forbidden fruit" with me. Lea is working on royalties and never even heard me when I swiped them from the cheese cake...oppps "forbidden fruit" safe. I brought a bag of peanuts for the cute blue elephant and a jar of sage honey for the bears. Snicker doodles? Dis someone say snicker doodles? Don't you'all just love Billy, what cute little guy.
Congrats to everyone who is celebrating a book birthday today.

Love to all Nancy

Shellie said...

Oooh, am I late to the party? Hope not. I'd hate to waste the Black Tie Cheesecake:D! It's the King and Queen's favorite dessert (chocolate cheesecake with chocolate cookie crust, chocolate chips--minis--pressed all around the outside and drizzled with, yup you guessed it, chocolate syrup! Oh and no worries about the Wakoshoo, the greybar (greyhound/polar bear/eagle critter my kids thunked up and begged me to add to the story), he eats fish. So that is why the critter is hanging out at the BBQ. Someone brought salmon. Watch out, it might be gone before you get to eat any:).

Congratulations to all the book birthday authors! Sending you all happy release day thoughts. Oooh, and the ring is tucked safely away so it can't do anymore damage...

:D.

Unknown said...

YAY! Hi Nancy. Chubby winks and sidles up...Whatcha got there? Yummy. All my favorites. You can play with me until Wendy wakes up, unless, um...Emily wants to play??? She has the most fabulous jokes. Some make me blush purple but she is soooo rad.

Ahhh, I love you Nancy. Will you try to wake up Wendy?

gail roughton branan said...

HEY Y'all!!!!! So sorry I'm at work and have to hop in and out! Happy launch day!!! If I'd realized it was a launch party I wouldn't have eaten lunch!

Unknown said...

Ahhh Gail.. Even Chubby Bubby Blue groaned at that one.

Chubby Bubby Blue approaches Gail and stares earnestly into her eyes.

"Gail, can you wake up Wendy? You could say something like get up ya'all."

Wendy said...

Chubby bubby blue, get your foot off my chest! ah. Thank you. I'm awake.

Hello everyone! Thank you for partying on while we slept Down Under the table. hehehe.
Hi Michele and Michelle thanks for the congrats.

Killarney So great to see you.I envy you putting your writing first. Go girl. Your books are so entertaining.

Unknown said...

Chubby Bubby Blue takes off running in excitement! Running through the grass and kicking up his heels, he accidentally knocks all the newly launched books off their stands.

(Chubby looks sheepish) Whoops! I think some type of greybear escaped...

Shellie said...

Oh boy, not again! **runs off with a stack of salmon steaks to catch the greybar** While I'm out, I'll go "like" all the new releases on Amazon:D. Yay, one more thumbs up for all of you!!

Rosalie Skinner said...

*yawn* What's the racket... doesn't anyone sleep around here?

Wendy said...

Hugs to Karen - pass the snickerdoodles. The secret ingredient cause the champagne cake to disappear so have some but it is only imaginary. Here have some real pavlova!

(that 1;45am my time when you arrived -sorry I was sleeping - must figure out a better time frame)

Nancy, HI! How lovely of you to bring food for the animals. I see Billy is drinking from the bottle for Laurel. What is her secret? She must have the piskies helping her.

Shellie, I've been waiting to try your Black Tie Cheesecake - yum. that is right royal! I had to stop Rosalie using your wishing ring.

Did we find Vanilla before Elle arrives. Oh there you are. Thank goodness. I lost sleep over you, you dear litle dog. :)

Debi, I'm worried about Ryan and Gabby. I haven't seen them since they were chatting to Kristin's vampire family.

Speaking of vampire families...I guess we have to accept our Fate looking at those Fangs

Who is ready for some music. What era do you want. Killarney would pick, Gowan I'm sure.

Rosalie Skinner said...

I thought we were going to keep the greybear outside...
Oh..it's Chubby Bubby doing the damage.. Sorry Shellie... not your critter in trouble this time.

*waves* Hi Karen, Shellie, Pat, Gail, *pant pant* Morning Wendy, Edith, Pat, Michelle, Emily, Nancy, Carole, Jane, Kristin, did I miss anyone? Sorrry if I did... still bleary eyed and yawning here.

*sips morning coffee and rubs eyes*
So, have you all been up too?

Unknown said...

"Hello Lady Rosalie!" Chubby Bubby Blue tries a curtsy but then tips over on his head. He giggles and turns it into a cartwheel.

"I just love these parties! So much fun. Look at those vampires! Not the silly kind you see nowadays. These are REAL traditional vampires. They don't like elephants so I don't mind hanging with them."

Rosalie Skinner said...

Killarney, hi!!
Snickerdoodles, are they good breakfast food?
I wouldn't mind some good old bacon and eggs...
The coffee is hot, anyone like a cup?
Music.. we woke to Great Southern Land.. stirring Aussie anthem. Complete with sunshine... good start to the weekend.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Karen,
He is very cute. Has he grown??
The vamps aren't so scary now the sun is shining..

Rosalie Skinner said...

Would you like coffee, or what about one of Gabby's Peppermint Patties.. complete with mini marshmellows... If Billy hasn't eaten them.
For a calf without an appetite he's been pretty curious about the sweets!! You should have seen him handle a bottle of mead earlier.
What a mess.
Not as bad as Kristin's vamps though. *is the sun shining there?*
How do you remove chocolate and brandy stains from the carpet??

Wendy said...

Hi Rosalie. Morning coffee that's a good thought. But this is cocktail hour isn't it? Off to get my coffee.

Karen are your love birds here? Is see the Vamps and Lacey and the King and Queen and Princess Alley all mingling so nicely, with Emily's characters. Best I don't go there.

Unknown said...

Wow Rosalie...those are big stains. Let's draw a mural around it. I'm thinking some Van Gogh look-a-like. He was a little nuts but that does qualify him for a seat at our party, don't you think?

Wendy said...

Did one of the animals wee on the grass. They are allowed. Spitzli does it all the time. A mural sounds good.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Van Gogh can visit my party any day... wouldn't want to remove any paint stains he left!!! LOL

Perhaps we can talk Kristin into adding a cleaning obsessed vamp to her entourage?

Shellie said...

OOps, I hope that wasn't Wakoshoo's "accident." And I'm all for cocktail hour. It's 5pm here! Yay, time to celebrate. Ok, maybe after I grab some garlic for the vampires which are surely to be busy tonight.

Wendy said...

Don't worry Shellie. It's Wakoshoo's party too. :) Garlic for the vamps lol what a good idea. Kristen was here earlier and her bamp family is still hovering around.
Have you seen our other releasees? I'm so glad their characters are having a great time .
I bet Wakoshoo and Billy will get on well together.

Kristin Battestella said...

*bamp family? I like it!!

Kristin here, back from the dead as the sun sets on the east coast.

'Heavenly shades of night are falling, it's Twilight Time....'

All the 1955 magic is in Fate and Fangs Book 5, Lust. fyi. ;0)

Now, I'm off to make seafood pizza. Careful on the garlic though!!!

I feel like Oprah! A vamp for you! You! and you! You, too!!!

And what is my word verification?

phockk. So many naughty possibilities!

Wendy said...

Hi again Kristin,
too much red wine before breakfast causes a hiccough in the spelling department. Twilight Time is lovely.

We sang Rock Around the Clock and Dance with me Henry from 1955. Soon we'll have Autumn Leaves here in Oz.

Rosalie Skinner said...

LOL.. Kristen, Like Oprah, you are very generous with your bamps, I mean vamps!!
1955 was a very good year!! I prefer 56, but whose counting?

Sunset...while we are basking in full sunlight free from bamps...
After weeks of rain, floods, and trying to get the washing dry in 100% humidity the sunshine is very welcome.

Shellie, Wakoshoo has redeemed himself by scaring away the gremlins. They have been living in my computer!! I think he's done the trick. Today it's working perfectly. *touch wood*

Nothing naughty here...it's domestic bliss time, washing, mowing, shopping, all the chores. Even the cider is on ice till later.
Watch out then...

Wendy said...

I feel a wish coming on! Shellie where did you hide your Wishing Ring.

Kristin. please pass me some of that seafood pizza. You aren't giving it all to your family are you?

Elle said...

Well I finally got on here, not for lack of trying. Just call me a computer dunce
VAnilla--well, that dog is based on a show dog, a poodle natch, that I knew years ago. Really beautiful and a lot better behaved than "my Vanilla who scarfs down junk food and croons to country and western music. Also enjoys baseball and Oprah so I had a lot of fun with him and he seemed the perfect match for a cop who hates dogs.
Elle

Elle said...

PS I forgot to add I am in Honolulu where the weather is gorgeous but the closest I am getting to the beach is looking out my window since I am stuck at home editing and trying to stop a credit card scam--not fun.

Elle said...

If Billy likes Vanilla, it's because he's eyeing the Big Mac hanging out of Vanilla's choppers

Heather Haven said...

160 comments! Wow! Good luck to everyone. Some of you with debuting books today were on Blogging into 2012 over with me at This and That. How lucky was I to get you? Thiiiiiiiis lucky!

Wendy said...

Hey, Elle!! So glad you are here. And isn't Vanilla happy to see you too. She went missing for a while. I think Karen's elephant (Chubby Buddy Blue) might have frightened her.
Here's some bubbly to celebrate your book release or there is cider if you prefer. Just don't drink the water.
Do you like snickadoodles or some of Shellie's Black Tie Cheesecake. Make yourself at home.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Elle,
Glad you have sunshine at least.
A credit card scam.. not fun.
At least the location SOUNDS terrific.
We believe in Fantasy.. hehe and Shellie has a Wishing Ring!! ;)

Vanilla sounds like many dogs I have met. Great character to add to the plot. I feel for Sam though.
He's been well behaved here...Vanilla, not Sam.. hmm
:)

*don't mention his disappearing trick... don't want to worry Elle*

Elle said...

Gee, it's nice to see photos of everyone--I kind of wondered what everyone looks like and it's great to see. The covers for all the books are great too.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Is there Black Tie Cheesecake left.. yummo... Sorry Elle, I have been waiting to try Shellie's recipe.
Now it's morning tea time, I can indulge!!
Lucky there is enough to go around. :)

Elle said...

Hi Rosalie,
Yeah, I just moved here and it's great. The weather is pretty nice today--it all depends on the trade winds. Without them we get VOG--volcanic ash from another island and it's awful. Hazy and humid and I find it very tiring and my throat scratchy. That being said, last weekend was great and I hauled myself off to the beach, I mean, what's the point of living here if you don't get to the beach. My next project is getting my dog over here next week and no, he is not a poodle, but he's a character.

Elle said...

Rosalie,
Indulge and enjoy yourself! I mean doesn't typing on the computer eat up calories?

Wendy said...

Honolulu beach sounds superb. I imagine you sitting on a deck chair on the sand, under a palm tree, with a laptop on your knee and gazing out to sea. Lovely

Hi Heather. You sure were busy in January over at This and That. What a mamouth task. 31 days of bloggers. Hey is the Alvarez family with you. I hope they'll be okay around the Vampire Family I see lurking behind the hedge.

Elle said...

BTW A special G'day to the Aussies. I lived in Sydney for many years, been trying to skype people now, getting the time difference right is tricky.

Elle said...

Hi Wendy,
Yep, sit back in a deck chair is right. I went down to Waikiki last weekend because you can rent deck chairs and umbrellas. My closest beach is a 15 minute walk, but you have to bring your own chair and I didn't feel like doing that. Besides, at least in Waikiki, you can get a cold drink or any other drink on the beach.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Heather!!! Have you tried the Black Tie Cheesecake. WOW...
Edith.. thanks.. yeah. forgot how many calories I burn typing!! Sweet... I will have another piece of Cheesecake and not feel any guilt!!!

Elle, I have heard about VOG. Doesn't sound much fun. The beach does though.
We live about 2km from the beach and get there on odd occassions. Thought we would spend more time there but life gets in the way. It's wonderful to take a quiet walk in the evenings though. Even if we don't swim much.

Elle said...

Rosalie,
You can definitely feel for poor Sam. Not only does Vanilla eat him out of house and home, but he pokes his nose up women's skirts and of course, they all yell at Sam.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Deck chairs, umbrellas and cold drinks.. now why don't they have those here??
What luxury! Imagine not having to carry your own!

Rosalie Skinner said...

LOL.. yeah.. my heart goes out to Sam. Poor guy.
The things we put our characters through.
LOL

Wendy said...

I live 3 mins from the beach and salt water pool. I don't get there as much as I'd like too. Funny isn't it. Too much of a good thing, I guess.

Elle said...

I'm back and forth--my shipment arrived and of course, broken stuff so also have to open all the boxes and catalogue the damage--nothing really serious yet, other than an Australian cockroach that they told me crept it. I DID NOT NEED THAT!

I'm supposed to be writing up a lesson plan for next week at work and editing my Liberty Heights books which are due out later this year. Geez, when is all this going to get done????????

Elle said...

Wendy
Are you in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney? If so, I know exactly where you are.

Elle said...

Rosalie,
Yeah, Sam has it tough but he has dog trainer Jodie to sweeten it all. There are a lot of wacky dogs in this book--that's probably why I had fun with it.
And yep, renting the lounge chairs is the way to go, I hate dragging stuff to the beach. This way, I get on a bus across the street--max is ten minutes to Waikiki, and on the way back, the bus drops me in front of my building.
There are really nice beaches much further out but I'm too lazy to get there. The big surf has been rolling in on the North Shore--20-30 foot waves and still not high enough for the big pro contests--can you imagine??????

Wendy said...

No. My grandparents used to live right on the cliffs of Coogee - a perfect place to holiday as a child.
My husband and I live on the coast south of Wollongong.

Rosalie Skinner said...

That's extreme sport hey.. what makes them want to surf in conditions like that?
Me... I like calm conditions.

Sounds like a great way to 'do the beach' Elle. We have to take our own stuff, but with the jetty beach the waves are usually calm and there is built in shade to rest beneath. Perfect for the grandkids.
For atmosphere and soaking up the glory of the ocean moods there are several headlands where I love to sit and absorb positive ions.(or is it negative) Inspirational. Hence two of my books are seafaring sagas. LOL.

Elle said...

I'm going to try to sleep for an hour (fat chance, it's wishful thinking) in between trying to edit like I said, but now that I finally got here, leaving the computer on so I can come back sooner rather than later.

Lea said...

Sorry for crashing the party but needed to come in here and explain that Kristin's book 1 and book 2 offered free with her last book in the Fate and Fangs series will be offered along with your purchased ebook of Resurrection. All the files will be offered together...you don't purchase the books on their own buy page. Separately, they are still at regular price. Only those who purchase book 7 will receive the other two books. Hope this helps.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Lea,
You are welcome...Thanks for explaining. Help yourself to the cheesecake!

gail roughton branan said...

Hey! Y'all still partying? Which side of the world's asleep now?

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Gail... we are enjoying a glorious morning here... Wide eyed and bushy tailed as they say.. hehe.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Bright eyed... hmm.. Ok.. so maybe just a little less awake than I thought. LOL. It's the sunshine and the relaxation... the mind is wandering in worlds unexplored...
Not making excuses.. LOL...

Sue Perkins said...

You guys sure have been partying. Just been speaking to Wendy who said to pop over and join the fun. Congrats to Elle, Shellie. Debi, Kristin and Wendy on their new releases. Have a wonderful time.

Wendy said...

Hi Lea,
So wonderful to have you here. Not crashing at all. Great to know about the special deal with Kristin's Book 7. Have you tried Shellie's Black Tie Cheese cake drizzled with choc syrup? Here's the ouzo saved it specially for you. :)

Gail I noticed you before when you'd eaten real lunch tsk tsk. Cyber lunch is better. No sleep for the wicked. Thankyou for being part of the party. Where are your characters. Have they had enough to drink?

Wendy said...

Lovely to have a Kiwi Here! Look everyone. Here's Sue from over the sea where the sun shines knows the right time to shine. What do you like to eat as a delicacy Sue. Maybe we have some here.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Sue, Paui? Is that how you spell it? I am sure we have some around.
HokeyPokey ice cream.. yumm.. I love NZ and it's flavours. What a great part of the world. Now, you have volcanoes but not VOG and you have beaches, but not deck chairs...
Hmm..
You also have the best landscapes for Fantasy films. :)
Where do you get your inspiration from?

Elle said...

Wendy,
Think I could sleep? Not a chance, too much on my mind. Okay, Coogee and Wollongong. I lived on the North Shore of Sydney so I know where you mean.

Elle said...

Hi Lea
Nice to see you here too!

Elle said...

BTW, maybe someone else has seen this. We get a lot of rainbows in Hawaii--really spectacular, but I have not seen a moonbow yet. People keep telling me I will. Anyone ever seen one?????

Wendy said...

A moonbow, Elle? No I haven't even heard of this. What a great image for a Sci fi fantasy. Wonder if there is one on the web. Must tell Hywela (Author of the Month in CC) she's probably seen one in her romantic space travels.

Elle said...

Yes I know, ti sounds weird but everyone assures me I will see one (if I stay up late enough and the conditions are right) so not holding my breath.

Wendy said...

Here are some moon bow images

http://www.insanetwist.com/2011/07/lunar-rainbows-moonbow.html

Rosalie Skinner said...

Elle,
Reading the notes that go with the pics.. (WOW Wendy they are awesome too.. BTW..) With the naked eye they will look white.
You are in one of the rare parts of the world where they can be seen though.. so keep looking!!

Considering at night we see in black and white, I did wonder how we would see a rainbow of colours. Hmm. It is with long exposure and on film the colours become visible.
That makes sense.

They are amazing images. Terrific!
