The Man in the Boat
A Romantic Suspense novel

cover designer: Suzannah Safi
 Blurb:
A lakeside cottage is a peaceful place to consider divorce.
Until a man, drunk or stoned, slams his boat into the bank right beside Steve (Stephanie) Early. But he's neither drunk nor stoned. His face is beaten and his shirt bloody. He's near death.
“Emily,” he gasps.
When Steve runs for help, man and boat vanish.
Back home, she asks her husband about Emily. Mark doesn't answer; he's concealing something from her. Which is the whole problem with their marriage. She's lived with his emotional detachment for six years because she loved him—still loves him—but no more. Divorce is inevitable.
A home invasion that night validates her decision. Even if she finds temporary safety in Mark's arms, she can't trust him. Especially when armed strangers pursue them.
To survive, they must figure out the connection between the man in the boat and the men who threaten them. And maybe, along the way, if she and Mark can be completely honest with each other, they'll get one last chance to save their marriage.
Warning: Some sexual content/mild violence

Yeah! Congratulations Rosalie! Cheryl! Nic! Kim! Peter!
Now the garden gate stands wide in Weclome. Come in everyone, readers and writers and mingle with our Guests of Honour and their story characters. You are all important here.

Come to the tressel tables placed around the lawn and begin your no- calorie feast. Chocolate souffle, anyone?

But, beware, don't venture behind the hedge where the mist...just don't there, and don't drink the water, oh dear me, no.

Hey, never fear the red wine and oozo are here. hehehehe.

Cheryl said...

Wow! Witches and malevolent leprachauns and zombies and parallel worlds! I feel kind of out of place with my Lake Lanier/Atlanta/N. GA settings.

Thanks, Wendy, for hosting us. I can see it'll take that red wine to get me through this wild party!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi All, Brought the Champagne... *pops cork* Congratulations!!!

Wendy, I thought some whole blood might be an idea to have on hand if the zombies arrive... So I raided the blood bank on the way over! Will keep supplies in the bottom of the fridge. Didn't know what to bring for the leprechaun.. hmm..

Looking forward to meeting everyone...
I also bought plenty of cheesecake and cider. :)

Don't know what Ixtumea-n characters might prefer.

I guess Steve (Stephanie) and the Man in the boat will enjoy cheesecake along with the rest of us.

Place is looking good. Recovered from the last party ok then. Still not game to venture beyond the hedge? Haven't fixed the water problem either. hmm.

Wise, warning people. :)
*sips bubbly* Ahh.. Enjoy yourselves everyone!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Cheryl, your Lake Larnier location is fine.. relax, mingle.. while the sun shines.. hehe. We could do with some romance and suspense. Actually, romance sounds good. :)

Peter Giglio said...

Here I am. Is this thing on? Testing, testing.

Congratulations to all the authors. =)

Wendy said...

Hi Cheryl, so how does it feel to have your Man in the Boat out in the open? Grab some bbq's snapper and the salad bowl is right here. Orange juice is available for that champers if you like

oh my goodness. This is going to be a bumpy ride. oo arr, Rosalie the idea of raiding the blood bank - Nic and Peter's characters will probably appreciate that.

Hi Peter, come right in. Rosalie was thoughtful to keep the zombies happy. Maybe they will sleep under the table and stay out of trouble

Kim Baccellia said...

Thanks for having me! Congrats to all the rest of you too!

I always love having a mocha latte to celebrate!

Also thinking of making some spider cupcakes. Spiders are Lupe's friends in EARRINGS OF IXTUMEA. Yeah, it took her a while to warm up to that idea too!

Nancy Bell said...

Congratulations Everyone! Happy Book Birthday

Nancy

Peter Giglio said...

Zombies seem to be placated by cheesecake and cider for the time being. Hope it lasts. =)

Rosalie Skinner said...

hi Peter, Kim,
Spiders... what a great idea. I read a fantasy once where the spiders were the hero's spies. Thought it was a terrific idea. Whenever I see a spider sitting quietly in the corner, I wonder if they are watching...

Now, what will everyone drink? Can I fill you glasses... and propose a toast... To your New Releases.. and Museitup... Many sales and success!!!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Phew.. that's lucky Peter...
Hi Nancy!! *waves*.
We have plenty of cheesecake and cider!!
If they seem to be coming to life... I mean agitated... perhaps we can spike the cider?

Unknown said...

Hi Wendy! *Chubby Bubby Blue shoots an affectionate peanut through his trunk* I love your parties and now you even brought zombies to the party? Ewww. Are they blue like me? What do they eat? Not elephants I hope. Give 'em the special fruit. Maybe Bonella will appear and keep them in line.

Congrats everyone!! We love release parties.

Kim Baccellia said...

Ooh, I'd love a virgin pina colada. That's sounds nom worthy. Lupe would love one of those Starbucks light mocha frappuccinos with whip cream. And top with some chocolate drizzle. Nom.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Chubby Bubby Blue!! Wouldn't be the same without your footprints in the cheesecake. ;)
What where you fire those peanuts.. the zombies are behaving at present.. we don't want to annoy them. :)
If their decomposing skin wouldn't keep falling into the punch it would be green rather than blue I think, Chubby.
Wendy, do you have a scoop I can remove these floating bits with? 'Something' should cover the taste of rotting flesh?
I might stick to the bottled cider. hmm.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Starbucks light mocha frappuccinos with whip cream... coming up... absolutely calorie free. :)
The virgin pina colada hmm.. with the romance in the air, courtesy of Cheryl's Man in the Boat, I can't guarantee the virgin part. Still.. enjoy!!
I know Wendy can provide Happiness Guaranteed!! ;)

Unknown said...

LMAO! Lady Rosalie! You are sooo funny. Love it. Chubby loves you too.

Decomposing skin dropping in the punch...ewwwww. LOL

Wendy said...

Peter, Oh Yeah! we have plenty of cheese cake. I know where Lea's stash is. But hear we refer to it as 'forbidden fruit' that way Lea won't notice until it's all gone and Rosalie always has plenty of cider on hand.

A parallel world of Lake Lanier would be a lovely idea, wouldn't it Cheryl? Speaking of Romance, I think your Stephanie is making eyes at Caleath from Rosalie's Chronicles. Have you seen him on her cover? They's make a nice a couple.

You are wise to stay away from the hedge Rosalie but doesn't the arbor look lovely draped in the bloomin' wisteria :)Lovely perfume. Cover the scent of the cinnamon/bat feaces my sibyl exudes.

KIM! come right in. Here's your mocha latte. I'll place this mound of spider cupcakes in the centre of the table. Let me be the first to tast. MMM cer..runchy. What will Lupe have to drink. I think she is batting her eyes at my Stefan. Unless she wants to be transported to the 14th C she might be safer with the leprachaun.

Hi Emily, your famous four will find lovely friens in Kim's Lupe and Cheryl's Stevie. So glad your are here. Red, white or cuder? Do you like my kangaroo steak?

I'm with you Rosalie - a glass in both hands to raise to you all!!! hic

Emma Eden Ramos said...

Congrats to you all!! :)

Emma Eden Ramos said...

Congrats to you all for these new releases. They look awesome!!

Wendy said...

Hey Karen! Hi CBB! I caught the peanut...in my mouth. Try that again CBB. :) I don't think zombies eat elephants -and he's a blue blood so should be safe.
Bonella hahaha. That's funny. She could keep them in line. I think she'd be safe from zombies too. :)

Isn't it great that Nic's book comes out for St Patrick's Day?

Lea said...

Red wine and ouzo is like yelling...

I GOT BLOOD AND BLACK LICORICE...I'll grab me a couple of licorice's to go please.

Wendy said...

Hi Emma, let me grab your hand and bring you into the happy group chatting here in the middle of this ring of bluebells. Will you have what Kim's Lupe is having? I can't spell it but I sure want a drink like that. :)

Unknown said...

Really cool for Nic and St. Patty's day. Isn't that guy on the cover Hot? CBB is strangely drawn to him too. Sexy.

Lea said...

Cheryl, sometimes a lake can be a frightening place. :)

Lea said...

ah Rosalie, for a sec I thought you wrote CASKET, not cheesecake. But that's cool... I brought the cheesecake IN a casket so that counts. LOL

Lea said...

Oh Oh, I see Peter is 'testing...testing...' then he went kinda quiet...you suppose he lost his BALANCE? HEHEHEHE

Cheryl said...

This is too rowdy for me. And it's getting dark! I'll be back in the morning when it's light.

Please have a mimosa ready for me, if you please! No virgins need apply. Guess that won't be a problem since the zombies and demons will probably get them tonight.

Wendy said...

I knew my poor spelling of ouzo would tempt you, Lea. hahaha!Rosalie raided the blood bank on the way here for the zombies and the black licorice is new to the menu. Here have this pretty pink bucket full to the brim. Can I tempt you with some of our 'forbidden fruit'?

Heather Haven said...

Congratulations to one and all! These are exciting times. Here's to lots of sales!!

Wendy said...

Is Lea's cheesecake is turning up in a casket, that's scary, suggests Bonella must be somewhere near.
Peter 'lost his BALANCE' that's funny hahaha.

Lea said...

well now that I know what ya'll mean by 'forbidden fruit' or rather from whose pile it's stolen from...yeah, give me a piece. :)

Rosalie Skinner said...

ROFL...I love the casket of cheesecake.. just don't let CCB stomp in it.
Peter has been caught off Balance... will he return as one of the zombies?
Cheryl, come back when the sun is shining.. it should be safe then! Somehow I don't think any virgins will survive the party. Not sure anyone will... still.. we can but try.
St Patrick's day...Sweet...another reason to celebrate..*hic*
As if we need one. If we drink enough ouzo will our blood taste like licorice to the zombies? Is that a good thing or a bad thing? hmm.. At least we won't care.
When my head clears, I will worrry about it again.
I might join Emma and Lupe's group in the bluebell circle of sanity.

Peter Giglio said...

Sorry, all. I passed out for a little while. Very tired and...wait...Oh no! Something scratched me! Was it one of the zombies? Did anyone see what happened?

gail roughton branan said...

Champagne. Beer. Hard Liquor. Whatever alcohol is in the place. Bring it on! And I don't drink. That's what my last two work days have done to me. Thank the Lord there's a release party today, I need it. Can I spend the night? And tomorrow? And next week?

Wendy said...

Peter, too much ouzo, already? That scratch must have been from the talon that extends from my sibyl's middle finger. If she drew blood, I'm very sorry, but you will definitely turn into a bat- a big black one. Here have some licorice. :)

Rosalie, do you have your mage handy who might be able to reverse the sibyl's curse?

Bonella Sticks said...

Someone said that the virgins aren't safe here over night. Well I guess that puts 99% of you guys in the clear and safe zone.

I'll go take a few bites out of those hiding in the corner.

Unknown said...

Eeeeeek! Bonella is here, Bonella is here. CBB hides behind Lady Rosalie's skirt. Hide me. hehehe (as if).

*runs his blue trunk inside the casket*. Yummy. Forbidden fruit.

Wendy said...

Hugs to Heather and Gail,

Heather are your Alvares family here. We'll need some good detectives to keep the peace later on, I think.

Gail you are at right place at the right time after a stressful few days. Of course you can stay here for as long as you like. Umm, just don't sleep under the table. There are a couple of zombies under there. Wait till they wake up, then you can creep in there if you need to rest later.

Bonella Sticks said...

Any elephant that can stick his butt in a casket is safe with me. Now that doesn't mean a trickle of blood won't fall on its owner...

Wendy said...

OMG. Proof that many a true word is said in jest . Bonella is here! All of my characters are at risk. Well, maybe not the ones in the 14thC but Heidi is. What about Nasith, Rosalie? Laurel, Nancy? And Lupe and Stevie, Kim and Cheryl?

Go rattle your bones in front of the table where the zombies doze, Boneface. Bet you're too scared.

Might be safer to hide behind the hedge.

gail roughton branan said...

Thank you, Wendy, I knew I could count on you. But right now, I can out-Zombie any Zombie walking. I can make 'em RUN, sugar! And, uh, sorry, but I seem to have already take out that bottle of champagne. Any Scotch around? Heather, if I plot a kidnapping for some attorneys and they try to hire the Alvarez family to find 'em -- you won't let 'em, will you? Bonella, don't EVEN mess with me tonight. I live with LAWYERS! You SO don't scare me.

Unknown said...

*CBB bats eyelashes at Bonella - then bites the head off of Heather's cat-cookie*.

What a fun party.

Wendy said...

Karen, I think your erotic charachters are safe. You stand up to Bonella. I'm hiding in grave, till St Patricks Day.

Kim Baccellia said...

Ok, Lupe's warrior, Teancum, can deal with any zombies.

**I say this as I hide behind the massive web.

Unknown said...

*CBB looks quizzically at Kim*

Teancum's a funny name. Can he do any tricks? Does he have any food?

Wendy said...

And can Teancum stand up to Bonella. Maybe wrap here up in a web? How about a snickerdoodle for Teancum, Karen?
and a wet noodle for Bonella?

Peter Giglio said...

The first person to answer the following questions correctly will win a free paperback copy of BALANCE.

1. What is the title of Peter Giglio's first published novel?
2. What is the title of Peter Giglio's next novel?
3. Who is the Bram Stoker Award nominated author who penned a soon to be published novel with Peter Giglio? Hint: This book is Peter's next novel.
4. Who are the two main characters in BALANCE? Hint: Info can be found in the synopsis.
5. Peter Giglio has edited two anthologies. What are the names of these two books?
6. Who did the amazing cover art for the MuseItUp eBook edition of BALANCE?

Hurry up! You don't want to miss your chance to win!

Wendy said...

I'd try to answer but I can stand for too long because there are zombies under the table chewing on my feet. Arghhhhhhhh.

Kim Baccellia said...

Teancum lives in Ixtumea, the parallel world that's similar to ancient Mesoamerican world. He's kind of like the Rock--buff, gorgeous, and Lupe's bodyguard. He's fought off ancient evils. I do think though some chocolate would appease him.

Wendy said...

Teancum sounds like he could out match Bonella. Here's some chocolate souffle for him and that pinicolada (?sp) for you Kim. Would you like to partake of some lamb roast. I don't offer beef steaks, my Billy the Bonsai Bull would be ofended if I did. :)

Stacy said...

Sorry, everyone. Have been out running all day. Congrats to Rosalie, Cheryl, Nic, Kim, and Peter on your releases. It muse be a great feeling, and I love your covers.

Did I hear someone say there was red wine? Or any kind of liquor? I'll take a glass:)

Do I win??
Chubby Bubby Blue

Peter Giglio said...

Karen - You got the first question right. But you also need to answer questions 2-6. You can do it. =)

Kim Baccellia said...

Do you have any mole? This is a thick chocolate/pepper sauce that you can put over beef and/or chicken. Mix in some homemade corn tortillas. Add some fresh onions/peppers/salsa. Nom.

Oh here's some lamingtons and pavlova for dessert. Mingle but beware of the zombies under the table and don't drink the water.

Peter Giglio said...

YAY!!!! Mark wins! Mark -- send an email to me at spiderbond325@hotmail.com and give me your mailing address for the book. =)

Wendy said...

As the robot would say in Happiness Guaranteed. Karen you lose. Mark wins. hehehehe. Peter take note you have a winner. :) Good for you Mark! Here's a lamb shank and a German Beer. Welcome to the party!! Just don't drink the water.

Unknown said...

So not fair!! I worked really hard on this:

1)Anon
2)The Dark
3)Scott Bradley
4)Geoff & Amanda
5)How the West Was Wicked
Werewolves & Shapeshifters: Encounters with the Beast Within
6) Mike Zambrano

Give me my book, Pete or Chubby Bubby Blue will haunt your dreams.

LOL. Congrats Mark

Rosalie Skinner said...

Goodness, I pass out behind the hedge and things happen. I see zombies running? Elephants hiding and warriors facing up to Bonella.
*shakes head*
I must be dreaming.
Is that Lupe and Stefan I saw creeping into the mist? Did you warn them Wendy?
What will Teancum think? Is Stefan in danger?
Goodness, Peter asks hard questions. Lucky Mark was around to answer them. You did ok. Karen!!
Now.. ouzo really doesn't taste good second time around.
*hic*

Unknown said...

Whoops! Got the Anthologies wrong. :(

Rosalie Skinner said...

I'll give you a free book Karen, all you have to do is buy book four!! :) *hic* Won't scare CCB either. Don't think. Hmm. Is he scared of dragons? Nasty witches and big black ants?

Unknown said...

Huh! So much for my friends...Wendy.

Thank you Lady Rosalie.

hehehe

*smooches* CBB can't ever get mad at Wendy.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Just heard from someone about to purchase a copy of book four, but they have already bought books one two and three.. so I am giving them a peak hat with a Chronicles motif on it instead.. hehe.. have to keep the local fans happy hey!! :)

Unknown said...

Lady Rosalie! You are a lady. Thank you! I'm sure CBB would love to read your lovely tales. He's not afraid of dragons. He plays with them. I already know what a fabulous writer you are. Buy book 4? I can do that.

You are a darling ma'lady! Absolute gem. Love ya.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hehe.. Or you could wait and see if you win a copy... How lucky do you feel?

Unknown said...

Hehehe. I don't believe in luck although my ancestors have Irish in them.

Bought it and got the free book! Two for one - nice!

((hugs))

Rosalie Skinner said...

Happy Dancing.. So sweet of you!!! Hope CBB enjoys them.
Next series must have an elephant in it... Must be a blue one... Now... what adventures could he have.. that won't fade to insignificance after one of Wendy's parties?

Wendy said...

Karen, you might still win Peter's ebook, so all is not lost. You did work hard on that quiz. You came
2nd hahah. Ouch. CCB kicked me in the shins. :(

Since you know from Happiness Guaranteed F1 features in there, sort of. Well I'm excited that Michael Schumacher is in 1st place in the 1st free practice, so far, in the Aust. GP. If only he could be there at the end of Sunday's race. But that depends on Luck and I'm a bit with you, there, Karen.

Rosalie, how lovely you have wonderful fans to buy your books. Much deserved and you are a generous soul.

Peter Giglio said...

Karen! You got most of the questions right on your second attempt. The two anthos I edited are HELP! WANTED and EVIL JESTER DIGEST VOLUME ONE. But you did name the first two anthos I appeared in. That's pretty good. I gave Mark a paperback copy of BALANCE. I'll give you a free eBook copy of Balance. Sound fair? Email me at spiderbond325@hotmail.com and I'll reply with all the eBook files. Cheers!

Rosalie Skinner said...

I was watching the race... amazing helmet cam.. was getting sea sick just watching.
If they drove slower I am sure they wouldn't bounce around as much.
Could be more comfortable.
IMO. ;) :D

Unknown said...

Peter! You don't have to do that. The contest was quite fair (although if you're an editor, technically I'm sure you've edited every single one of yours books so all would qualify) hehehe. You can take the writer out of the editor but you can't take the editor out of the writer.

You're a doll and you know I've been a fan of yours for a while. Pssst. I still am.

Mwah!

Peter Giglio said...

Karen - Even the best editor needs an editor. Writing is such a personal endeavor that I fail to see my greatest errors. I'm simply too close to the material. So I love to work with editors on everything I write. And learning from them makes me a better editor, too. Love the process! Long live the process. =)

Rosalie Skinner said...

Long live the process!! *raises glass*
I agree... and with each encounter with an editor there is more to learn. It is half the fun of being a writer... learning more about the art. IMO...
Must be the ouzo.. I am being very opinionated today. hmm.

Wendy said...

I love the party atmosphere. Muse is great for the mutual admiration societies. You guys are such good sports in all ways. Here have some ambrosia. I'm baking a pear cake with passionfruit icung if you'd like to come back later when it is cook enough to cut.

Opinionated, Rosalie? Never. and you are a wonderful editor as well as a wonderful writer.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Just reading the new review for The Unhewn Stone, Wendy.. Congratulations.. FIVE STARS... deservedly so. What a great reason to indulge in the ambrosia. Ahh.. no calories. Love it.
Will be back for the pear cake with hmm icing? When it cools. :)
The cyber ouzo leaves a definite aftertaste. Hmm. :)
Or is it the licorice I ate after lunch?
Thank goodness it doesn't leave a headache.

Carole said...

Congratulations to you Rosalie, Peter,Kim, Cheryl and Nic - bask in the warmth of your success. While I'm here, I'll have a glass of red. I always seem to be the last turning up to one of your parties, Wendy -- but I suppose some of us have to stay late and do the washing up!
:>)
Cheers
Carole

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Carole,
Red wine... for you. Don't worry about the washing up... :)
Cyber parties have their advantages.
Can I interest you in a slice of cool pear cake, now iced. Should be just about right.
Make yourself comfortable. Watch out for the blue elephant and the zombies asleep under the table... Otherwise it's a pretty normal party. Same rules apply, Don't Drink the Water... Don't go beyond the Hedge... You know how it goes. :)

Edith Parzefall said...

Congratulations, everyone, for the new releases! All the books sound intriguing though I might be too scared of zombies... Furnace, my little blue dragon, is hiding under my coat, just in case anyone brought some of those creatures along.

Any cheesecake left? Yum. Shshsh. I won't tell Leah. :-)

Edith

Edith Parzefall said...

How long do zombies usually sleep under a table? Can I let Furnace out and ride on the blue elephant? I'm sure he'd love that.

Edith Parzefall said...

Shush, Furnace, everyone's sleeping or hiding from us. Stop flapping, silly. There's the pear cake. Let's have a nibble.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Edith,
I am sure Furnace could ride CBB for a while. The zombies are behaving very well so far. It's still sunlight here...
Would you like bubbly or wine, cider or.. I don't suggest the punch. Wendy had some German beer earlier on. It's probably still cold.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Try to keep Chubby Blue and Furnace from the casket of cheesecake. We smoothed over his last lot of footprints.. shh.. Don't tell anyone.
Congratulations on your latest contract with Muse, Edith!
*pops champagne cork* It's a good day to celebrate.
Cheers!!

Edith Parzefall said...

H-h-h-hi Rosalie, boy did you scare me with your sudden appearance and I thought I'd have to watch out for those undead creatures. :-)

Okay, my heart beat's going back to normal. Yes, let's toast with a glass of bubbly. Thank you. Cheers!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Cheers.
Sorry to alarm you. :)
I would make more noise, but I don't want to draw attention to our presence... the undead are peaceful at presence. I hope to keep it that way.. for as long as possible.

Wendy said...

Hi Edith. Boo! So good to see you. Michael is on top of practice 2 Yeah! Had to watch that, but I'm back now. Your little dragon is quite safe. I think Peter took the zombies home but Nic should be here soon with his leprachaun.

Lea knows about her cheesecake. She even had a piece herself. How about a snickerdoodle. I'm 3waiting for Barbara E to turn up with her cookies but I'll have a lamington in the meantime.

Lovely of uou, Rosalie, to hold down the fort. Your co guests of honour might be waking up soon. Gail is sleeping around here somewhere. I hope she didn't go behind the hedge where the glimmer can get you.

That Germnan beer is very nice, Edith. I had a cold glass of white a little while ago.

Edith Parzefall said...

And I appreciate it, Rosalie! :-)

Congrats on the release of The Battle for Enderseer Hold. I love your Chronicles of Caleath. And Lea's cheesecake. ;-) The champagne is lovely too. What a breakfast!

Wendy said...

It's dinner time here. Been quite a day and I hope pur guests of honour will come back to keep our visitors welcome.

Carole now washing up here IF you bring some of your fabulous quiche. :)

Wendy said...

i.e.'our' and keep our visitors company. Shouldn't mix German Beer and NZ white wine. hic.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Thanks Edith, it is exciting having another book out.. and I like Lea's idea of making book one a bonus if you buy book four.. so people can catch up with Caleath's adventures.

I am sipping cider... yummy Rekorderlig Strawberry and Lime.. since it is release day.. I don't see why I shouldn't indulge. hehe. Nothing cyber about this drop!! LOL
Watch me fall over before the glass is empty. hehe.

Peter took the zombies home did he? Hmm. Wonder what his place smells like on a warm day. Does his family mind?

Nic's leprechaun looks like he could use a trip to the dentist. Hmm. If he turns up I am hiding behind Chubby Bubby Blue or Furnace.. anyone... A pot of gold doesn't seem so important looking at his leering grin. :)
Hope Stuart figures out his secret before.. well before it's too late.

Good on Michael.. Go go go!!!

Edith Parzefall said...

Oh my, all these drunks stumbling around here. What's the world coming to. :-) Well, at least those strange creatures under the table seem to have gone.

That strawberry-lime cider sure sounds nice... Hm, it's not even nine in the morning yet. Just a tiny sip maybe?

Rosalie Skinner said...

Morning... cider... evening cider.. it's all good cider! :)

Edith Parzefall said...

With the strawberry and lime it's probably got lots of vitamins as well. ;-)

I'll try to stay away from the ouzo this early though.

Wendy said...

Milk with Rybena is the go for me after a long day & will keep popping back for a few hours to support our new book authors when they wake after their night's sleep.

Morning, party goers...it's 6a.m. In Montreal, still in bed, on my touchpad contemplating to get up...then of course I get a nudge from that blue elephant's butt, land on the floor and transported here but everything is so quiet. Almost afraid to look around at all the virgin bodies on the floor, mangled and eaten and...oh wait...there's Peter, Rosalie..with swords?

arghhhhhhhh.........

Rosalie Skinner said...

Morning Lea... They say cheesecake helps with the globe shifting travel sickness you might experience. Thank goodness there is plenty Bonella didn't ruin.

Quiet.. yeah... now it's dark on this side of the globe we are keeping a very very low profile.

Swords, I hope they are effective against the undead. If only they could explain the burning that seems to drive them. Something odd about these zombies...I need to read Balance to find out what it is.

Still... so far so good. We have survived!

Wendy said...

Hi morning party goers, I see you are waking up refreshed. We have survived your night and are closing our sleepy eyes for a little while. The tables are laden, swords are drawn men in boats are stepping onto the shore, Teancum is casting a wide net and the vampires are entertaining Bonella. All we need is a little green leprechaun to challenge Caleath and Azriel's army and all will be right with our garden world.
See that great stand of books - be careful not to get sticky fingers on those pristine pages. Feeling drowsy, it must be something in the water. I hope everyone will continue to mingle and if your character wreak havoc -- lovely, that's just what we want them to do!!

Nic Brown: Werewolf for Hire said...

Thanks for setting this up Wendy you ROCK!!
It is great to have my story released on St. Patrick's Day!!
Looks like I'm in good company today too with Peter, Kim, Rosalie and Cheryl. Now off to find some Baileys...

Nic Brown: Werewolf for Hire said...

By the way, Werewolf for Hire is Nic Brown! I just noticed my name isn't shown when I comment... I am a terrible blogger!

Wendy said...

Welcome Nic, Do you have your leprechaun here to frighten Lupe and Stephanie. Caleath and the zombies will be able to cope. I'm sure. The baileys is right over here and there is whatever food you like except beef because my Billy the Bonsai Bull would be frightened. Be careful not to trip over Karen's little blue elephant.
Don't drink the water...

Wendy said...

btw. Because of fear of Bonella who has been shaking her bones, I am still hiding in the grave until St. patrick's day, that's where I'm dozing for a while, so don't close it over, please. :)

Nic Brown: Werewolf for Hire said...

Wendy I'll try not to fill in the grave yet... but the way things are going it may get crowded soon :)
By the way...
The most horrifying thing about my leprechauns is their dental bills!

Wendy said...

lol. We noticed the teeth on your cover!

Cheryl said...

Yawn. Anybody still standing? See a few people left. Guess they were hiding under the tables when the cops came. Glad I got out of here early last night!

I'll take that mimosa now, Wendy. Tip that champagne bottle a little more if you please. Ah, you are the bestest hostess, but your guests are too crazy for me.

Not having Peter's savvy about this stuff, I'm trying to figure out the best way to give away a copy of THE MAN IN THE BOAT. Which, by the way, two people have now informed me has a second meaning. I'm not gonna ask what. Not that kind of girl. Anyway, the book does have some sex in it, so...

Anita Davison said...

Congratulations all Muse Authors with new releases - some scary stuff amongst them!

Susan Royal said...

Congratulations and best wishes to all of you. I can only imagine how you must feel. It's great huh?

Pat McDermott said...

Mega Congrats to the new releases! Yay Rosalie, Peter, Kim, Cheryl, and Nic! Green beer all around :-)

Cheryl B. Dale said...

Everyone's so nice! Still watching my back though.

Nic Brown: Werewolf for Hire said...

Thanks Pat! I'd love some green beer.
Cheryl- Man In The Boat sounds interesting. An idea for how to give away a copy to some lucky winner would be have a twitter contest, "Follow me to win" then at a set time, pick the winner randomly from your followers. I'm running one right now until 11pm EST (US) @Bmovieman. The winners (I'll have 2) will be picked by random selection made by my wife from the list of followers using a random number generator. :)

Cheryl B. Dale said...

Thanks for the idea, Nic, but I think I'll just let commenters list their favorite romantic suspense titles and decide which one might like MAN.

So, romantic suspense readers. Put a title or two that you like in your comments and we'll go from there!

Kim Baccellia said...

You guys are too hilarious!

Having a hard time with homeschooling this morning--sigh--one reason I didn't pop up earlier.

Can I have one of those drinks now?

Unknown said...

Hey! *Chubby Bubby Blue rubs his head* Why is my butt green? And where are the snicker doodles?

Wendy said...

Hi all, is it St Patricks day yet? >poking my head< out of the grave. Is it safe to come out. Orange juice for me.

Cheryl, your lucky winner is chosen by you. No need to set a test, here. Just chill out and rest in the boat. :) Lie back and read your new book. Stephanie is happy mingling with gentle folk. Lupe loaned Steve her grandmother's earings, now she is dancing with the gnomes.

Nic is it the green beer that troubles your leprachauns' teeth. Here's a magic tooth brush to brighten their smile.

Anita thank you for stopping by. Our garden is right royal don't you think? There is a maze, like at Trencarrow but we musn't enter there because of the Glimmer. :)Champage and cuccumber sandwiches for you dear friend.

Wow, Susan, you are one game lady, putting in an appearance, knowing Bonella might be hovering. But you held your own with her at Halloween so, perhaps you will be free to enjoy the BBQ'd crocodile steaks and wine.

Kim, Sounds like you need more than one drink. Here one for both hands. Lupe has been mingling with Rosalie's Allorn people. Nasith has been looking after her but I'm afraid Lupe spilled the lime jelly over Chubby butt and now he is green, and she loaned her grandmother's earrings to Stephanie. Be sure to get them back from Cheryl.

Pat, I'm so glad you are here. So visitors went behind the hedge and got lost in the maze. Can you reverse the glimmer and release them. Oh No! Rosalie is one of the people who got lost.

Karen, Hi. Over here. The snickerdoodles are with the empty vat of lime jelly (jellow). Kim's Lupe tipped it over CBB's butt, and Chubby drank the green beer ---

Rosalie Skinner said...

Ooops.. Karen, if Chubby bubby's butt is green... I think he's been drinking the punch.
What to do... what to do... Will see if Tallowbrand is available to work a little magic.
Hi Nic, ahh.. I want to be a leprechaun's dentist..That's where the pot of gold lies. I know my dentist has one... courtesy of me!
Peter has all the ideas... sounds as though you are Twitter savvy as well as knowing all about viruses and zombies. I want him on my team!
Hi Pat, Anita, Susan, Welcome to the madness! I hope you took note of the warnings.. Actually, you are looking healthy.. I see you did. Can I refill your glasses. Yes, Susan, it is a wonderful feeling. :) Even better after one of Wendy's parties.. it's a sort of numb feeling, with a smile plastered in place and an out of body experience that doesn't involve a lot of calories or hangovers. :)
Welcome back Cheryl, Kim.. Glad your Teancum stood watch while we slept. I felt quite safe.
I don't know what people are talking about Cheryl... although, now you mention it, I have heard 'whatever floats your boat'... I am not going to delve into the meaning and just enjoy the romance and the adventure.
Now.. it's morning here, anyone interested in hot brewed coffee or tea...?
I will wander around as my eyes open and see if any one needs first aid.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Morning Wendy, You look a little grave this morning. Have some coffee.
Sugar, milk, cream... I have more lime jelly setting in the fridge. So glad it was jelly, not the punch that effected Chubby Bubby.

Cheryl said...

Oh, such a relief not to have a contest. But I'd like to give the MAN to someone who likes romantic suspense! I have no idea what people are reading here. There's such a smorgasbord!

Anne Duguid Knol said...

Morning all, though it's night time here--bringing the dark with me to save too much eyestrain after the whooping it up you've all been doing.
What a brilliant release day--so many inspiring authors and great books.
Congratulations to everyone still awake--I'll just help myself to the cheesecake and cider shall I? Ah...sorry Furnace, just kidding. There seems to be room under the table now...or is that Wendy snoozing peacefully there after throwing her amazing party? hmmmm

Wendy said...

Hi Rosalie,
I see Pat released you from the Glimmer and you are your old self again... come back younger of course. 'Dentist has the pot of gold courtesy of you.' lol. You are a scream Rosalie, You know how to turn a phrase so well. and 'you look a little grave' hahaha.

Cheryl, I see what you mean. We'll have to see who answer your call.

Hey Annie, great to see you. Thanks for the little glare relief.
The cheesecake and cider is a good choice and snickerdoodles too. I hope Furnace didn't singe your hair with dragon fire.

I'll just have some pavlova (meringue with fruit salad and thick whipped cream on top.) My favourite breakfast food, plenty of sugar. hehehe

Dear Visitors, Who likes romantic suspense? Do you?
Cheryl needs to know!

Kim Baccellia said...

Oh, uh. Does Stephanie know what power those earrings have? She might find herself in Ixtumea. But then again if she sees Teancum, maybe that's not a bad thing?

Cheryl B. Dale said...

Hmmm. Is the party over? Have the police carted everyone off? Hello, hello?

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Cheryl, Kim, I was just checking the inside of my eyelids.. :)
No not asleep. Never while the party rages.
Police? They obviously didn't look behind the hedge or beneath the tressle tables. Hehe.
I am about to fire up the bbq... no beef, but we have plenty of kangaroo steak...
Stephanie would probably give the Ixumea warriors a run for their money, earrings or not? Wouldn't she Cheryl... Lupe and her spiders will take care of her, I'm sure.
So far we haven't lost any main characters at these parties... had a few liasions that might not have made it to the novels, but no lost characters.

Wendy said...

oh no, the party isn't over. We need to find out who the romance readers are. :)

Rosalie Skinner said...

I have a book to give away too...
So we need to know who the romance readers are and who likes to delve into epic fantasy too...

M. L. Archer said...

Whew! I ran in from outside just now cuz...Well, there are zombies OUT THERE! DID YOU HEAR ME! ZOMBIES!!! AAAHHH! To save myself I did what I had to do: I stuck treadmills in each of their paths, that should hold them.

Okay, I got a squirt gun full of Holy water if the witches act up, a pot of gold to distract the leprechauns (actually it's that foiled covered chocolate, money candy, but don't tell) AND a giant pitcher of margaritas for everyone else! WHooo-Hooo! Congratulations everyone!

Oh, and if Bonella causes trouble, the neighbors Great Dane can bury her in the back yard...Alrighty! Time to dance!

Rosalie Skinner said...

Hi Michelle,
Treadmills.. what a great idea.
Dance... *happy dancing* I can hear music... harmonic background from the rolling treadmills.
Chocolate gold SWEET... What a neat idea...glad you arrived.
I will have a jug of margarita.. oh boy...
These tressle tables don't take dancing on... ooops.

Wendy said...

Hi Michele,
The haunting music is just what we need for the dancing. Will soothe the zombies too.

Good job you are trim torte and terrific Rosalie or the table would have more than sagged under your weight.

I'll eat some of that money from the pot o'gold. It will magically refill.

The neighbour's Great Dane to bury Bonella. That's funny. You must unleash that dog next Halloween, Michele. :) We won't warn Lea because I think she might have a soft spot for the scrawny rattler.

I think Stephanie might encourage Cheryl to sojourn in Ixtumea. Maybe you and Lupe could do a swap and spend time in Cheryl's Lake Lanier. They both sound intriguing places.

Rosalie pass the margarita. I've never tasted one of those.

M. L. Archer said...

LOL! Here, let me get you a second glass!

Wendy said...

Thanks. Please help yourself to the king prawns and umm, I'm not sure what this purple dish is, smells a bit cinnomeny.

Rosalie Skinner said...

Wendy, Trim taut and terrific.. "you should have gone to specsavers!" LOL My cyber self is all those things.. after the cider yesterday and some fresh choc chip cookies... sadly I am not so trim today!! Still.. what's celebrating if you can't indulge every now and then. :)
The purple stuff.. hmm. I am game. What's the worst that can happen?
hey?
Hey.. Michael is still doing ok. :) :)

Wendy said...

:) Yes, what is that purple stuff?

Michael is doing great - as long as the other front runners aren't sandbagging like he used to do. Holding my breath for qualifying at 5:00pm. (4hrs away:))
Will you back Michael if he wins?
Otherwise I'd like to see Massa succeed.

Wendy said...

Well, it's been a lovely party with wonderful Guests of Honour and fabulous party goers. You are all such good sports. We had lots of laughs.

It's the company that makes a great party - good food helps too. :) Thank you for coming.

I'm closing the garden gate now, until next time and will converse with our Special Guests to see who they choose as lucky winners of their books. We will announce the winners in a day or two.

Happy writing and reading.

Kim Baccellia said...

Thanks so much for having me!

Cheryl said...

Party's over? Already?

A big thanks, Wendy!
